Tech offers fans personal experience

(USA)

Fans visiting the Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta when it opens later this month will be the first to enjoy the personal treatment thanks to IBM.

The connected stadium is equipped with interactive platforms and Internet of Things (IoT) technology, which sports fans and visitors to other events will be able to take advantage of.

American football team Atlanta Falcons and soccer club Atlanta United will call the stadium home. It will also play host to other major events.

And an IBM ‘Fan Experience application’ will provide access to a personal experience by offering real-time information on travel, parking, in-stadium options, team information and more.

“Our goal was to truly redefine the game-day and event experience, and in the process, reset the bar for sports and entertainment venues everywhere. Creating the ultimate fan experience today means meeting fans where they are, with a personalized platform for fast, seamless interaction. With Atlanta’s new Mercedes-Benz Stadium, we achieved this goal,” explained Philip Guido, General Manager, IBM Global Technology Services.
