(BRUSSELS)

Startups will take centre stage at this year’s European Innovation Summit in Brussels.

The annual Summit, now in its ninth year, brings together decision-makers from government, industry and academia to a series of events, discussions and debates held in and around the European Parliament. And the 2017 instalment has been expanded to include what will be the first ever European Innovation Week.

And in a year of firsts, organisers Knowledge4Innovation,(K4I) in partnership with IncubatorEurope and Glowfly, have also added a new startup platform, the EU Top 50 Millennial Startup Competition.

“We understand the importance of knowledge exchange and the need to empower the region’s most promising young founders, who are leveraging technology to build disruptive solutions that meet Europe’s most pressing challenges,” explained Dr Roland Strauss, Managing Director of K4I.

And Innovators Magazine will be producing a special edition, in partnership with K4I, featuring the top 50, as well as an exclusive interview with ‘serial-explorer’, Bertrand Piccard. The Swiss pioneer, who last year made history – again – by flying around the world in the solar-powered Solar Impulse plane with André Borschberg, is one of the keynote speakers at the startup convention, which will take place on 28 November at The European Parliament Hemicycle.

For this special edition, we are also going behind the scenes at large multinational, Thomson Reuters, to learn how it has shifted to a ‘more agile experimentation style’ to remain successful in the age of acceleration.

Innovators Magazine is also delighted to announce we are holding a whisky reception as part of the closing ceremony at the Summit, on 30 November, St Andrew’s Day.

Book your space in our European Summit magazine now or get in touch to find out how you can get involved with our reception.

The 9th European Innovation Summit will take place from 27 November to 1 December, 2017.
