A leading conference for developers is to be held in the Scottish capital this October.
ScotSoft, hosted by digital technologies trade body ScotIandIS, will bring together more than 1000 CEOs, decision makers and developers from the private and public sectors in Edinburgh on 6 October. This year, its Developers Conference will run for a full day thanks to its popularity in 2015.
Speakers at the Developers Conference will include Sam Ramji, CEO, Cloud Foundry, and Mario Viviani, Amazon’s resident technology evangelist. The day also includes speakers from Administrate, xDesign, PwC, TCS, Dogfish Mobile, BEMO, Skyscanner, The Data Lab, FanDuel and more.
For CEOs and decision makers, the Global Forum theme is Think Big, Move Fast and will feature speakers including John Bernard, Global Marketing Director, Mozilla; Gerry Docherty, chair of Smarter Grid Solutions; John Peebles, CEO of Administrate; and Gavin Dutch founder of Kotikan. A panel Q&A will give delegates the opportunity to ask the questions that really matter for Scotland’s digital technologies industry will follow the thought-provoking talks.
Scottish Government will also host a conference at ScotSoft2016 focusing on transforming digital public services and working with the digital technologies industry. The aim of the day is to consider the opportunities and challenges on how the public sector and digital technologies industry can work together. It will build upon an event held at Heriot Watt University in November 2015, and the challenges issued by the digital technologies industry to the Scottish Government on that day.
ScotSoft will also feature the annual Young Software Engineer of the Year Awards and speaking at the dinner will be special guest and Olympic gold medallist, Sir Chris Hoy.
