Virtual hackathons are proving vital in bringing innovators together to tackle the COVID-19 pandemic. Developers and designers desperate to contribute can join the upcoming Hack the Virus event led by Yeti, one of San Francisco’s leading design and development agencies.

The two-day hackathon on 25 and 26 April is a chance for pioneers in these fields to connect with medical professionals in a bid to develop digital tools to support those working on the front lines.

“A fellow colleagues and I were talking when we came up with the idea,” said Yeti CEO, Tony Scherba. “While a lot of us designers and developers are sitting at home and feeling a bit powerless, we realised there was something we could do to help out members of the medical community, government and other experts on the frontlines fighting the Coronavirus — and that’s volunteer our time and band together to do what we do best — develop cutting-edge technology.”

The hackthon will take place online via Zoom conferencing. Sponsors will work with the winners to fast-track the best innovations. Register.
