US festival champions STEM

The top lineup at next month’s USA Science & Engineering Festival will encourage youngsters to pursue a career in a STEM related field.

Innovators Magazine hosted a Twitter chat with Knowledge4Innovation on the need to achieve gender equality in STEM, which generated some great ideas on how to do it.

And the free science festival in Washington, DC – the largest in the country, is the type of interactive event which can make a major contribution in attracting young females

“Our nation’s future relies on encouraging more kids to go into STEM careers. By hosting the nation’s largest science festival, we are hoping to capture their imaginations by introducing them to STEM innovators and superstars and by engaging them in hands-on projects to illustrate that STEM can really take them anywhere they want to go,” said Marc Schulman, Festival Executive Director.

The festival takes place at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center on 7 and 8 April.
