The meatless revolution continues to go from strength to strength.
Innovators Magazine reported last week that TGI Fridays was introducing the meat-free Beyond Burger – produced by Beyond Meat – to all of its restaurants across America. And now the chain is collaborating with the non-profit, Monday Campaigns, and its Meatless Monday initiative, which is embraced by dozens of countries worldwide.
The tie-up will see TGI Fridays promote plant-based foods via its social media channels.
“Appealing to a more food-forward consumer is a key priority for Fridays in 2018,” explained David Spirito, executive culinary director for the chain, in a statement. “In answering guests’ demand for nutritional menu items that fit their lifestyle needs, we saw an opportunity to introduce newly expanded options like plant-based protein. With Beyond Burger, diners will have a sensory experience of a traditional burger without sacrificing taste.”
