Toyota’s mini robot responds to human emotions

|5 October 2016|

Japan

Toyota has unveiled Kirobo Mini – a robot small enough to fit in the palm of the hand that “can respond to human emotions”.

Capable of holding basic conversations it has been developed as a communication partner and can react to human’s facial expressions thanks to its built-in camera.

Toyota said: “Kirobo Mini has been developed as part of the Toyota Heart Project, which aims to create human-like interaction between man and machine in a format other than automobiles, but using the same fundamental concept of inspiring the heart, inspiring you that it applies to vehicle manufacturing.”

Toyota is bringing Kirobo Mini to market in 2017.
