(POLAND)
Fifteen inspiring and impactful projects tackling climate change are being showcased this week at COP24 in Katowice.
They are all winners of the year’s Momentum for Change platform, led by the United Nations Climate Change Secretariat, which rewards ‘innovative, scalable and replicable’ examples of innovation combating climate change: from businesses, governments, organisations, communities and cities. All the winner come under one of the initiative’s four focus areas: Planetary Health, Climate Neutral Now, Women for Results, and Financing for Climate Friendly Investment. And today the Momentum for Change team is holding an event where the four from the Planetary Health category will be celebrated. Our editor-at-large, Marc Buckley, will be moderating the event from 3pm to 4pm today. Follow @Momentum_UNFCCC for all the latest.

Organized by the UN Climate Change’s Momentum for Change initiative, and supported by The Rockefeller Foundation, Momentum for Change: Planetary Health is part of a series of events to showcase global climate action at the UN Climate Change Conference in Katowice, Poland (COP 24). This 60-minute event focuses on novel solutions by communities, cities, companies, NGOs, and other institutions that balance the need for healthy communities with the stewardship of natural ecosystems. This event will showcase the four winning activities of the 2018 Momentum for Change Award under the Planetary Health focus area. As well as presenting their activities and discussing their work during panel session, the event will conclude with a short question and answer session will be held with the audience, present both at the venue and remotely via social media.
