New film shot entirely on a drone

|6 April 2017|

NEW YORK

A new short film shot entirely with a drone has been released as a ‘Vimeo Staff Pick Premiere’.

At The End Of The Cul-de-Sac – produced by Aerobo and directed by Paul Trillo – tells the story of a man in the midst of a very public breakdown.

“It is the first dialogue-based film shot entirely on a drone,” Trillo explained. “Adding to that technical achievement, we shot it in single ten-minute take, with no cuts. A ten-minute take is hard to execute even with traditional filmmaking equipment and using a drone added even more.”

And for him the story always came first.

“I wanted to tell a story first. We pushed drone technology to help tell that story, not the other way around. It was amazing to see how well the drone operators were able to follow the 3D animatic I created with Cinema 4D.”

Brian Streem, Founder and CEO of Aerobo, added: “Aerobo has more experience filming drone footage for movies and TV than any other company in the world. We shoot live sports for major networks, we film on the most high-energy high-stakes film sets in the world, but this project was an entirely new test that our team rose to meet.”
