Applications are now open for the international award for Innovative Ideas and Technologies in Agribusiness which recognises an innovation with the greatest potential to make a positive impact in Developing Countries (DCs).

Launched by UNIDO ITPO Italy, the award is being promoted in collaboration with the Italian National Research Council and The Global Food Innovation Forum, Seeds & Chips. It seeks to identify the best technologies and ideas – from startups, enterprises, universities and research centres – which could lead to social and economic improvements if implemented in DCs.

The ceremony will be held on 10 May 2017 in Milan during Seeds & Chips 2017 – being held at Rho Fiera in Milan from 8 to 11 May 2017. It will be hosted within the Special Conference – Inspire Power: Food Security for Developing Countries.

UNIDO ITPO Italy wants the contest to generate a virtuous circle of connections between private, academic, financial and institutional sectors that will ultimately help in providing concrete answers to food security and safety issues. Applications must be received by 10 April 2017. An ad hoc jury made up of leading representatives from international and Developing Countries’ institutions, research centers and scientific academia, along with business and financial entities will evaluate the projects. Five winners will be selected: one for the category Women; Young – Under 35; and three for the overall category.

The Seeds&Chips Conference and Summit are a prestigious showcase for the Innovative Ideas and Technologies in Agribusiness contest winners. And for all Startups, who will have the opportunity to present their ideas before an exceptional lineup of international stakeholders, as well as establish important technical and financial partnerships with with large companies, international institutions, business incubators and investment funds.

The primary goal of UNIDO ITPO Italy, Seeds&Chips and CNR is to promote the creation of partnerships aimed at the recognition of a fundamental right. The right to healthy, safe and accessible food to all.

Innovators Magazine is delighted to be an official media partner of the Milan showcase.
