The movement pushing for a sustainable fashion industry continues to gather momentum.
That is thanks to leading advocates like Fashion for Good, an international initiative which promotes a collaborative, cross-sectoral approach, to delivering change. Fashion for Good does this via a variety of platforms, including its startup accelerator and Scaling programme.
“Our mission at Fashion for Good is to bring together the entire fashion ecosystem to reimagine the way fashion is designed, made, worn and reused,” said Katrin Ley, Managing Director, Fashion for Good.
And European online fashion platform, Zalando, announced today that is partnering with Fashion for Good.
Katrin continued: “We are excited to welcome Zalando, Europe’s leading online fashion platform, to our network so we can continue accelerating the transition to a circular fashion industry.”
Zalando will now play an active role as a partner – gaining access to the new wave of green fashion innovators, while also offering input and mentorship to ‘circular apparel companies’.
“We believe that using new technologies will increase transparency in our industry significantly. We are determined to find our role in accelerating this process for the good of all,” added Dennis Hoenig-Ohnsorg, Team Lead Sustainability & Corporate Responsibility, Zalando. “Fashion for Good provides the ideal platform to join forces to identify and grow promising business concepts together, creating sustainable innovations across the global fashion ecosystem. We look forward to the collaboration and bringing in our unique e-commerce competence as the first partner who is a pure online player.”
Innovators Magazine will feature the work Fashion for Good does with the biotechnology industry in our upcoming biotech special edition, which is out later this month.
