Energy for food security innovation challenge open to innovators

In Niger well over 3 million people are suffering from food insecurity largely as a result of conflict and the climate crisis.

What people urgently need is access to energy to grow and cook food. And a new accelerator, the Energy for Food Security innovation challenge, from World Food Programme (WFP) innovation and WFP Niger, is offering up to US$250,000 in funding and innovation support to scale ‘fit-for-purpose solutions that can enhance energy access in vulnerable areas, fostering improved livelihoods and resilience’.

The challenge, open to global and regional innovators, entrepreneurs and organisations, will invest in cost-effective and sustainable energy solutions as part of WFP’s Energy for Food Security programme.

The application deadline is 14 June, 11.59pm (CEST). Find more open calls on our challenges page.
