The 2020 Postcode Lotteries Green Challenge offering €1M in prize money to startups with the biggest potential to achieve impact opens for entries on 1 March.
Last year’s overall €500k winner was Swedish Algae Factory, a young company which sells ‘high-tech silica shells’ as a sustainable alternative material to harmful chemicals used in solar cells and personal care products. Now early stage businesses in Germany, Great Britain, the Netherlands, Norway and Sweden can pencil 1 March into their diaries. That’s when it is time to submit entries for 2020, and pitches will need to be in fast, by 1 April.
Who can apply? Startups with solutions that are:
- contributing to a sustainable planet
- developed enough to execute
- realisable as a usable product or service within the next two years
- located in one of the countries in which there is a Postcode Lottery: Germany, Great Britain, the Netherlands, Norway or Sweden
