‘Building the bank of the future’

(FRANCE)

Global banking giant BNP Paribas is partnering with a Paris-based startup campus to run an accelerator programme for fintechs.

It will join with Silicon Valley’s Plug and Play, the internationally renowned innovation platform, at Station F, the world’s largest startup campus. The accelerator will provide young companies with vital access to expert advice, funding initiatives, and a wealth of new contacts. That includes peers from other industries working at the campus – more than a 1000 startups are expected to make it their home.

BNP Paribas’ Deputy Chief Operating Officer Jacques d’Estais said: Strengthening our positioning in the startup ecosystem is an illustration of our transformation process towards building the bank of the future. Our partnership with Plug and Play is an important new step and we’re delighted that startups on our program will very shortly be installed at Station F.”

Plug and Play founder and CEO Saeed Amidi  added: “We are incredibly excited to build our European Fintech and Insurtech innovation platform with BNP Paribas in Station F. I believe it will become the hot spot of all startups and all corporate innovation, not only for Paris and France, but for Europe as a whole. It will be a great pleasure to connect Station F to Plug and Play’s HQ in Silicon Valley where we have been helping, accelerating and investing in startups for more than 10 years.”
