Children and teenagers aged between five and 19 are being urged to enter the World Food Day poster contest and creatively share their ideas for improving diets.
Youngsters worldwide need to design a ‘poster that illustrates their idea of what needs to be done to make healthy diets available for everyone and how each of us can improve our diets’, which fits in with the 2019 theme of #WorldFoodDay (16 October).
Unhealthy diets have overtaken smoking as the world’s no.1 cause of death and disability! This year #WorldFoodDay focuses on making healthy and sustainable diets affordable and accessible to everyone! – tweeted the FAO.
The deadline for the poster contest is 8 November, with three winners to be selected in each age category in December. The FAO offices worldwide will promote the winners, who will also ‘receive a surprise gift bag and Certificate of Recognition’.
