(AUSTRALIA)
A major international airline is recycling uniforms to make products that are useful for people living through challenging situations.
Virgin Australia recycles more than a tonne of clothes every month, which are being made into a variety of new and practical products, including toys for children living in emergency care; and blankets and pillows for homeless people and those in need.
Sustainable thinking is part of the Virgin mindset. The impact of that was revealed in a sustainability report out this week which showed the airline has seen a 22% reduction in aircraft carbon emissions since 2007.
