Houston is hosting one of the world’s premier energy events this week.
The origins of CERAWeek go back to 1983 when energy consulting firm, Cambridge Energy Research Associates (CERA), welcomed its clients to a conference in Houston to network and discuss market trends.
“CERAWeek fosters a culture of idea exchange, learning and relationship-building between industry, government and society to address the global energy future. The event brings together 3000 global industry leaders and policymakers from over 60 countries and the entire energy value chain,” the event website states.
The Executive Secretary of UN Climate Change, Patricia Espinosa, is speaking today about the need to accelerate the transition to a clean energy future. Her speech will be live streamed at 4.55pm (CST). Follow the packed programme live throughout the week and on social media for all the latest.
CERAWeek 2018 runs until 9 March at the Hilton Americas Hotel in Houston, Texas.
