Bruce Friedrich – Founder of the Good Food Institute (GFI)- spoke about the need for a new agricultural revolution at #TED2019. By producing meat people want – in a sustainable way: growing it from plants and directly from cells, Bruce says the rise in demand can be met, without triggering the climate catastrophe that will follow doing it via traditional animal agriculture. We reported this week GFI’s new State of the Industry Reports on the rapid rise of these plant- and cell-based food markets during 2017 and 2018, with companies attracting ‘unprecedented investment’ – indicating the big appetite there is out there from the public for a major food revolution.
