Sectors are working more closely together than ever to accelerate the types of sustainable innovations that can tackle the world’s biggest challenges.
Collaboration is now very much mainstream, as companies realise the folly of adopting a silo mentality.
So Innovators Magazine is delighted to introduce the latest member of our team, Carlotta De Toni, who will be reporting and experiencing the importance of this increasing interconnection between business cultures, especially within the context of advancing the UN Sustainable Development Goals. Carlotta, whose background is in food innovation, will also lead our new impact comms programme.
“I’m delighted to be the first to join the impact comms programme, designed by Innovators Magazine, to let students and professionals experience the interconnections between sectors and the key role communication plays in accelerating progress and innovation,” she said.
The cross-sectoral and comms knowledge gained through the programme will then be fed back into sector-specific roles in the future.
Carlotta is also “looking forward to contributing to the new quarterly” multi-media platform, which was launched by Innovators Magazine in the European Parliament last year, as a continuation of our collaboration with Knowledge4Innovation (K4I), the continent’s leading innovation platform – and the organisers of the annual European Innovation Summit (EIS). The special edition we produced with K4I, to promote the inaugural EU Top50 Startup competition at EIS 2017, showcased the types of disruptive innovations being developed by early stage companies to achieve a fair and sustainable society.
“Communication is a key element in accelerating the creation and adoption of innovations that can overcome society’s biggest challenges – and deliver a sustainable future for all. The European Innovation Summit and EU Top50 Startup competition are vehicles for advancing and facilitating change driven by science, new technologies, research and innovation. And this new multi-media quarterly platform complements them with actionable messages, discussions and debates that are designed to mainstream transformative ideas and opportunities,” said Dr Roland Strauss, Managing Director of K4I.
