Startups asked to help end hunger

Are you a startup pioneering a product or service that can help end hunger?

If yes – apply for the latest instalment of the World Food Programme (WFP) Innovation Accelerator by 2 January.

Innovators Magazine regularly flags up deadlines for the Munich-based accelerator, which is working hard to contribute to United Nations Sustainable Development Goal number 2 – to zero hunger.

“Apply to the WFP Innovation Accelerator and get a chance to participate in a week-long bootcamp and 3-6 month sprint programme. Selected projects will get access to mentorship, financial support, and WFP operations, partners and technical experts. Submit your application by 2 January 2018 to be considered for the March Bootcamp and the Summer Sprint Programme in 2018,” the WFP website states.

One of the innovations it has supported is the ShareTheMeal app – which allows people to provide a meal for children who need it for just US $0.50, with the tap of a smartphone.
