(BRUSSELS)
Europe’s leading innovation platform has appointed its first female Chair.
Croatian Member of the European Parliament (MEP), Ivana Maletić, will head up Knowledge4Innovation (K4I), which promotes a culture of innovation across the European Union.
After almost a decade at the helm MEPs, Lambert Van Nistelrooij, who was Chair of K4I and Vice-Chair, Jerzy Buzek, have handed over the leadership to a ‘new generation’. They will both still continue to play a productive role in K4I throughout this year though, as the body builds up to the 10th anniversary edition of the European Innovation Summit (EIS) it runs in Brussels annually.
The handover took place at a reception held in the European Parliament earlier this week. An occasion which also saw the appointment of four new MEP Vice-Chairs, Andrey Novakov, Angelika Mlinar, Paul Rubig and Henna Virkkunen.
