Major funding on offer to Europe’s food innovators

Organisations pushing Europe towards a net zero food system are being urged to apply for a share of a new multi-million euro funding pot.

EIT Food’s Open Innovation Call for Proposals 2023 supported by the European Institute of Innovation and Technology (EIT) is open to projects advancing one of the following goals: a net zero food system; healthier lives through food; a fully transparent, fair and resilient food system.

Paola Giavedoni, Director of Innovation at EIT Food, said: “Through this Open Innovation Call, EIT Food will support bold new innovations that promise to transform the way we address agrifood challenges. Whether through new products, technology or business practices, we want to hear from organisations with ideas that will help us secure a fairer, more transparent and resilient food system for all.”

Those selected will receive funding of up to 70% of their project costs, and there will be two submission windows, one closing on 14 October this year, and the second on 13 April 2023.
