The World Food Programme (WFP) has launched a social media campaign encouraging people to transform unwanted food into tasty meals.
Instead of chucking out food because it isn’t looking its best or is close to the use by date – but is perfectly edible, the #RecipeForDisaster campaign wants people to make something delicious with them and share the picture on social media, tagging three friends to join in.
And with one in nine going to bed hungry every day in a world that has enough food to go around, according to WFP, everyone needs to do more to put an end to food waste and contribute to UN Sustainable Development Goal 2: to zero hunger.
