Can food provide solutions that can help ‘end poverty, protect the planet and ensure prosperity for all?’
That question will be discussed next month at the International Journalism Festival (IJF) in Perugia, as part of a panel session taking place at the free-t0-attend event. Sponsored by the Barilla Center For Food & Nutrition (BCFN) Foundation, the debate on 12 April includes a top lineup of experienced speakers who have a strong understanding of these issues and how they relate to achieving the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
“Over half of the SDGs relate to global food security and nutrition, including the goals that relate to poverty, gender equality, water and sanitation, responsible production and consumption, and climate change. Global food system needs to be reshaped to achieve a whole range of SDGs and address the current challenges of the 21st century,” the panel preview blurb states.
Visitors to the festival – which runs from 11 to 15 April – can attend with no pre booking and there are no fees – so if you are in the area get along to the event and listen to a wide range of informed opinions on the world’s hottest topics.
