There has never been a more exciting time to work in the bio-based industry. Global production of bio-based chemicals now exceeds 60 million tonnes, with the global market for them expected to increase to at least $12.2bn by 2021. We are moving away from bio-based chemicals being made by small, niche producers and only used by a narrow group of brands. Instead they are becoming a major part of corporate strategy, which can deliver a boost across the the triple bottom line (financial, social and environmental).
However, the road from conception to commercialisation is a very difficult one. Despite the growth in the area, scale up, competitiveness and adoption by end users and brands all often prove too big a challenge to overcome.
This is the focus of two co-located shows: Bio-Based Chemicals World and Bio-Based Products World which are taking place in Amsterdam on 24-25th May 2016, and this unique Congress brings together specialist chemical companies, manufacturers, technology providers and global brands to share best practice that will support the growth of bio-based products.
Across two days in the Dutch capital, the congress will encourage interaction and networking to connect technology providers to chemical companies and chemical companies to brands to meet new business contacts and uncover practical solutions.
The Bio-Based Chemicals and Bio-Based World show attracts more speakers from chemical producers and brands focused in this area than any other showcase! Over 50 bio-based chemical and brand speakers are already confirmed from a host of leading companies including; Tom Domen (Innovation Manager, Ecover), Babette Pettersen (Chief Commercial Officer, BioAmber), Puneet Trehan (Sustainability Innovation Director, IKEA), Caroline Laurie (Head of Sustainability, Kingfisher Plc), Molly Morse (CEO, Mango Materials), Marianna Ralli (Scientific Affairs Manager, Korres Natural Products) Robert Wedinger (CEO, Rennovia), Pierre Royer (Head of Sustainability, Castorama) and many more.
This new event is not just another industry show but a business community for adopters of new technology and chemical solutions. Offering a built in meeting area and pre show networking app allowing attendees to maximise your ROI and develop crucial new industry contacts.
And to ensure a high-level of attendees, brands and retailers are made VIPs receiving free all-access passes. Not only do we create content specifically for brands and retailers, but our in house VIP team invites them to the show for free to create a genuine business opportunity for all attendees.
Alex Williamson, Co-Founder and Managing Director of Bio-Based World News said: “The industry is fizzing with potential, and we’ve been delighted with the rapid development and popularity of our news portal since its launch. This event is being launched at an important time for bio-based chemicals, with an increase in adoption but the path from the lab to the market still being fraught with difficulties. We hope this inaugural event, working alongside our digital media will help and support this growth further. And in Amsterdam we’ve chosen a city that has always been a leader in the bio-economy, not just for the region but for the whole world and will be the perfect host for our expert global delegation. I look forward to seeing you in April for a fantastic couple of days.”
