I had the privilege of attending the European Innovation Council Summit in Brussels earlier this year for the award ceremony of the 10th European Prize for Women Innovators.
“Europe is home to inspiring women innovators and entrepreneurs leading successful and game-changing companies,” said Iliana Ivanova, Commissioner for Innovation, Research, Culture, Education and Youth. “The European Prize for Women Innovators highlights their skills and ingenuity, casting them as role models. This prize helps strengthen gender equality in business and tech, championing women innovation talent and women-led companies.” Read more about some of this year’s winners.
Led by the European Innovation Council (EIC) and European Institute of Innovation and Technology (EIT), the annual prize ‘celebrates the outstanding achievements of women entrepreneurs driving positive change for people and the planet through their innovative ventures’. There are prizes available across three categories: EIC Women Innovators, with three prizes up for grabs of: €100k, €70k and €50k; EIC Rising Innovators, offering: €50k, €30k and €20k; and EIT Women Leadership, again breaking down: €50k, €30k and €20k.
The application deadline is 25 September at 17:00 CET.
