Apply by midnight (CET) today for Global Game Changers 2018.
The international cross-sector awards platform from Innovators Magazine and Newsquest Media rewards impact towards the UN Global Goals. Glasgow’s iconic Grand Central Hotel will host the awards ceremony on 12 September – with the keynote coming from inspiring food reformist and #GlobalGoals advocate, Marc Buckley.
“Businesses that want to be around in the future need to make sure they have dynamic systems-based business models, and include the SDGs as the foundation that provides the resilience to hold their business together well beyond 2030,” Marc said.
Apply now. Here are the categories:
FOOD FOR THOUGHT
This award is for a pioneering product, concept or service – created within any sector – for the purpose of contributing to a world without hunger.
WOMEN IN INNOVATION
A woman who has created a game changing business or innovation and successfully brought it to market. It should help in providing a solution to a societal problem – be applicable across borders
CIRCULAR BREAKTHROUGH
An organisation that can demonstrate how their product or services help to accelerate the transition towards a circular economy, establishing a more sustainable way of doing business. It could be anything from circular product design and innovation; re-use, repair, remanufacturing to effective supply chain and cross-sectoral collaboration; incorporating design thinking, digital technology and/or adopting resource efficiency.
CORPORATES FOR GOOD
This is for a company, or initiative, facilitating a cultural transformation that can revolutionise business practices and increase the development of sustainable products.
YOUNG PIONEERS
Any person or group of individuals (aged 18 – 25 years old) who are shaking things up. An idea, product or invention that is having an impact, achieving commercial success, changing how things are done, or is being harnessed by a school, business or organisation.
INNOVATING IN STEM EDUCATION/TRAINING
The innovation economy needs people with skills in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM). This award will recognise a training provider, college or university that is democratising education – and bridging the gender gap – by using pioneering techniques, programmes, or technology to reach a wide and diverse audience.
EMPOWERING INTRAPRENEURSHIP
Are you an individual, business, organisation or institution that is actively promoting intrapreneurship – as companies like Google and Intel are doing? Then this award is for you. It recognizes efforts to change culture, processes and facilities, in order to change-makers within the workplace.
COLLABORATION FOR CHANGE
Recognises a new or completed project created through collaboration between organisations; across the quadruple helix (industry, academia, government, citizens); and/or across countries and borders. A project that is designed to address a societal problem at local, national or international level.
START-UP AND SHARE
We are looking for a disruptor or early-stage company that has developed – or is working on – an innovation that has the potential to make an impact on the #GlobalGoals.
MOONSHOT AWARD
Serial pioneer Bertrand Piccard told Innovators Magazine in 2017 “You don’t innovate with a new idea, you innovate when you understand the paradigm that prevents you from moving ahead, and you get rid of this paradigm.” How are you shifting paradigms to create or demonstrate ways in which a better and more sustainable world can be achieved?
To date, the event is being supported by the Bayer Foundations, the Centre for Work-based Learning, Circular Glasgow, City of Glasgow College, BAE Systems and ScottishPower.
