Global Game Changers 2018 launches

(SCOTLAND)

The 2018 Global Game Changers (GGC) awards officially launches today – a platform that rewards impact towards the UN Global Goals.

We are delighted to partner with Newsquest International again this year for the September awards in Glasgow. The cross-sector event has 10 categories, with each looking for innovation that contributes to the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

The keynote speaker is UN SDG advocate, Marc Buckley. A member of the Expert Network for the World Economic Forum, Marc also works with the World Food Programme, the UN Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO), and is the Germany and Austria Country Coordinator for Al Gore’s Climate Reality Project.

“Businesses that want to be around in the future need to make sure they have dynamic systems-based business models, and include the SDGs as the foundation that provides the resilience to hold their business together well beyond 2030,” Marc said.

New for 2018, Sustainability Street will showcase some of the products transforming how we live and work.

Global Game Changers 2018 – supported by the Bayer Cares Foundation, the Centre for Work-based Learning, Circular Glasgow, City of Glasgow College, BAE Systems and ScottishPower – will be held in Glasgow’s iconic Grand Central Hotel on 12 September – with London the next stop for GGC in 2019.
