A COVID-19 Global Hackathon kicking off today backed by Google is targeting the quick development of AI solutions to the pandemic. Led by Lumiata, the mission is to fast-track innovations that can support healthcare systems cope with the immediate impact – and the aftermath – of the virus.
“We designed the hackathon to encourage the many talented minds across the globe to address the challenges of COVID-19 using AI,” said Dilawar Syed, CEO of Lumiata. “These talented experts can develop their own ideas using AI to address the challenges of this public health crisis.”
The Hackathon is for data scientists, machine learning experts, developers, public health professionals and any others worldwide working in aligned fields. The winner will receive $10,000 and help to develop the product, with the runner-up similarly getting support to bring the product to realisation – plus $2,500.
Innovators can register now – with solutions to be submitted by 1 May.
