A team of Serbian scientists is leading a three year collaboration project to pioneer the commercial development of algae-based biofuels.
Supported by the NATO Science for Peace and Security (SPS) Programme, the venture is being led by Belgrade’s Institute for Multidisciplinary Research in partnership with Baylor University and Manchester University.
“Successful completion of this project will, I believe, make it possible for fuel prices to drop by 1/5 in the next five years,” the project’s leader Ivan Spasojevic said.
Big things are clearly expected from the project but as we’ve said before algae can do pretty much anything so roll on cheaper fuel prices.
