A Canadian startup has launched a virtual accelerator to help bridge the skills gap.
AudaciousYou’s 14-week Future Skills Accelerator will see participants learn from coaches and peers via video conferencing calls, with a guaranteed interview offered on completion with one of the employers partnered with the initiative.
Ryan Brain, Managing Partner of Deloitte’s Toronto region, an employer working with the accelerator, said: “We’re committed to readying our next generation of leaders and we’ve made it a priority to support organisations like AudaciousYou. We believe AudaciousYou has an innovative solution to help bridge the talent and skills gap in our country. We’re excited to be a part of it.”
While the employers, including Royal Bank of Canada and Sun Life Financial, are mainly hiring in Canada and America, the course is open to everyone.
“We are developing in-demand skills for the future and guaranteeing an interview with an employer seeking talent with those skills. Bridging the talent and skills gaps in the rapidly changing world of work requires innovative solutions, which is why we are excited to have leading employers join us,” added Hamoon Ekhtiari, CEO of Audacious Futures, which incubated AudaciousYou.
Applications for the Future Skills Accelerator, which runs from September to December, must be submitted by the 30 June deadline.
