Vertical farming will be one of the hot topics at the upcoming Urban Future Global Conference (UFGC) in Vienna.
That’s because this year’s event will incorporate the Skyberries Vertical Farming Conference, the first of its type in the German-speaking market.
The UFGC says it is the ‘World’s largest meeting point of CityChangers: committed people that actually drive change to make cities more sustainable’. And vertical farming, growing crops indoors without the need for land or sunlight, is one of the innovative solutions needed to feed a rising global population – many of whom will live in cities – and which the UN estimates will jump from 7.2 billion today to 9.6 billion by 2050.
The conferences will be held from 28 February to 2 March 2018 at the Messe Wien Exhibition & Congress Center, the Vienna trade fair venue.
