Ten years ago, we launched the Innovation Academy in Glasgow.
The Academy was created to explore a different approach to learning and collaboration — bringing people together through workshops, conversations and practical experiences to explore innovation from different perspectives.
From the beginning, it had a European outlook, creating connections across sectors and borders.
The Academy became one of several strands of work through which we have continued to explore these ideas. Over the years, our initiatives, workshops, publications and events — from UN initiatives and climate innovation to our work around the European Parliament and wider international networks — have continued to explore how people, ideas and perspectives can connect in new ways. This included helping bring the Climathon innovation hackathon to Glasgow for the first time, creating a practical space for people to collaborate around real-world challenges.
Today, those themes continue to shape our work, alongside new questions around future foresight, emerging ideas, collaboration and the human skills needed to navigate change.
The Academy has been one part of a wider body of work exploring how people, ideas and perspectives can come together — and that exploration continues.
