Sounds + sights online

Outdoor access to cultural experiences and live entertainment is off limits at the moment. The shift online though means it is still possible to connect with live music, museum tours and other activities.

The Google Arts & Culture app makes 2000 museums accessible online, as digital innovations open the doors to popular attractions including the Louvre and the MET in New York.

When it comes to music there is a lot going one. Here’s just a few regular and upcoming events: a nightly opera stream – from The Metropolitan Opera. Tomorrow, 2 May, Garth Brooks and Trisha Yearwood are live-streaming a show on facebook – 7.30pm EST. The New York guitar festival is kicking off on youtube on 4 May and runs every day until 15 May. While an online event introduced by Oprah Winfrey in honour of graduating seniors in America who are missing out on their big day due to the pandemic will be on the Facebook app and Instagram, starting 2pm EST on 15 May, with Miley Cyrus lined up to perform.
