North Las Vegas is home to Amazon’s 17th rooftop solar installation.
Located at the corporate giant’s fulfillment center in the city, it is another step towards the 50 rooftop systems it plans to have in place worldwide by 2020; and supports the iconic brand’s ultimate goal to power its operations using 100% clean power.
“It’s exciting to see 17 of these solar rooftop systems go live in just over one year. These projects are important steps toward our renewable energy goal and we hope they inspire our employees, customers, and communities as we work together to bring more renewable energy online in the coming months and years,” said Tom Chandlee, Senior Manager of Renewable Energy at Amazon.
A recent report released by the International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA) reveals that in 2017 big business sourced an amount of renewable energy that would meet the power needs of France.
