A free webinar next week will provide insight into the business opportunities that can be generated from discarded fishing nets.

The Circular Ocean initiative, a three-year project supported by the European Regional Development Fund’s Interreg VB Northern Periphery and Arctic (NPA) Programme, is supporting enterprise activity in this area.

And Martin Charter, Professor of Innovation & Sustainability and Director, The Centre for Sustainable Design, University for the Creative Arts (UK) – a partner of Circular Ocean, will talk about turning used fishing nets, ropes and components (FNRC’s) into a valuable resource in next week’s webinar.

The one-hour webinar takes place on 19 December at 6.30pm GMT, and is primarily targeted at firms with less than 250 employees, that are located in the Northern Periphery & Arctic region, which includes Scotland, Ireland, Sweden, Finland, Norway and Iceland.

Email Ros Carruthers at  The Centre for Sustainable Design, UCA on rcarruthers@uca.ac.uk or +44 (0) 1252 892772 to book your place.
