Renewables industry has a new star

(GLASGOW)

Last night’s Global Game Changers awards at the Glasgow Science Centre is the big story for Innovators Magazine today.

Launched this year by Innovators Magazine – in partnership with the Herald Scotland – it showcased the very best of the innovation economy.

Star Renewable Energy (SRE) won the Corporates for Good category. The Glasgow company pioneers affordable clean energy solutions. It provides heat through water source pumps – offered at the same price as gas, but without the negative impacts that are associated with burning fuel. And SRE plans to prove the innovation in Glasgow by harvesting energy from the River Clyde, before taking it global.

Worthy winners at an awards event which was endorsed by the European Innovation Summit, hosted in Brussels annually by our partners at Knowledge4Innovation.

“It’s great to see our partners at Innovators Magazine collaborating with Newsquest International to host the first ‘Global Game Changers’ awards in Scotland. Collaboration is a vital element of the innovation process. The awards recognise pioneering companies and individuals that are working to build a sustainable future by contributing to the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals. With it being the 10th anniversary of the European Innovation Summit here in Brussels next year, who knows, we may well be welcoming the ‘Global Game Changers’ awards to the Belgian capital in 2018,” said Roland Strauss, Managing Director at Knowledge4Innovation.
