The circular economy will take centre stage at next month’s EU Sustainable Energy Week (EUSEW).
‘Circular Economy – Energy and More’ is one of the session’s scheduled to take place in Brussels on 7 June, from 11am to 12.30pm.
“The EU Circular Economy agenda is moving forward. It is about going full circle: really closing the loop. While energy efficiency and clean energy play a key role in many policy interventions in this field, circular economy goes even broader. Based on a full life cycle approach, it also factors in aspects like material sourcing, production and use, durability and flexibility, and end of life options. This is a real challenge, but necessary, if we are to achieve maximum energy and financial savings, and optimise value and use from all raw materials, products and waste,” the event website states.
It is a session that will inform companies how they can benefit from circular thinking and take advantage of current EU initiatives in this area.
