Tristram Stuart is tomorrow’s guest on Inside Ideas. Tristram is the founder of Toast Ale, a company that has featured many times on these pages for its innovative work in producing award-winning craft beer from bread that would otherwise go to waste.
The international award-winning author, speaker, and campaigner is an expert on the environmental and social impacts of food. His books have been described as ‘a genuinely revelatory contribution to the history of human ideas’ (The Times). And the environmental organisation he founded, Feedback, is working to regenerate nature by transforming our food system. All of Toast Ale’s distributable profits go to Feedback and other aligned charities worldwide. And after three years of operations, Toast saved more than one million slices of bread from going to waste.
Tristram is also an official UN Champion of SDG 12.3 to halve food waste by 2030; winner of the international environmental award in 2011, The Sophie Prize; an Ashoka Fellow, a National Geographic Emerging Explorer and a World Economic Forum Young Global Leader.
