An accelerator led by Amazon and EIT Climate-KIC is looking for European startups in the early stages of developing products that are designed to help people live more sustainably.
Tech giant Amazon, in partnership with EIT Climate-KIC, Europe’s groundbreaking climate innovation hub, today announced the new 12-week Launchpad Sustainability Accelerator that will help companies scale fast.
“We created the Amazon Launchpad Sustainability Accelerator specifically to support the entrepreneurs of the future who are developing ground-breaking sustainability-focused products,” said Aditi Singh, General Manager, Amazon Launchpad, Europe. “We are looking for startups with sustainable innovations and bold ambitions to grow and ultimately help their customers around the world make more sustainable choices in the products they buy. Applications are open now, and we welcome brands who want to take their business to the next level and fast-track their growth to apply today.”
Amazon will work with selected startups to undertake Climate Impact Assessment from Impact Forecast, to gauge their products potential climate impact, and create pathways to boost their sustainability credentials. This will ensure any new products brought to market will outperform anything else that is currently available.
“One of the essential ingredients for achieving the transformations we need now is to make sure that all new companies are thinking systemically and are fully sustainable and regenerative from the outset,” said Kirsten Dunlop, Chief Executive Officer, EIT Climate-KIC. “We are delighted to be collaborating on the Amazon Sustainability Launchpad Accelerator, giving startups that are sustainable from the very start, the support, grants and visibility they need to drive responsible consumerism.”
An equity-fee grant of £10,000 will be given to every startup, as well as US$25,000 worth of AWS Activate Credits, and £5,000 sponsored Amazon Advertising. They will also have access to office space at Amazon’s London headquarters.
The deadline for applications is 25 March, 2022: apply now.
