A company striving to transform the food service industry with robots has secured $10 million of new investment.
Innovators Magazine featured California’s Miso Robotics and Flippy the robot last year, a product developed by the company that has been busy ‘grilling and cooking burgers’ in the State.
“We are thrilled by the growing confidence in Miso Robotics and remain committed to fulfilling our goal of modernising the $3 trillion global prepared foods industry,” said David Zito, co-founder and CEO of Miso Robotics.
Patent experts, Acacia Research Corporation, led the funding round, along with others including CaliBurger, which plans to use Flippy in 50 of its fast food restaurants worldwide by the end of next year.
“The company’s unique position as a pioneer in autonomous solutions for the commercial kitchen will not only transform the modern restaurant but also will change the way we think about how food is produced and served,” added Rob Stewart, President of Acacia Research.
