(SCOTLAND)
The international awards event that rewards cross-sector impact towards the UN Global Goals – Global Game Changers – takes place in Glasgow today.
Launched in 2017 by Innovators Magazine and Newsquest Media, a year after the Goals officially came into effect, Global Game Changers recognises the amazing strides being made by pioneers and businesses of all sizes, from all corners of the world, to support the 17 Goals; which Ban Ki-moon, former Secretary-General of the United Nations, labelled the ‘blueprint for a better future’.
Congratulations to all of the finalists who made the final cut. With entries up more than 100% on the inaugural event, it was a really tough ask for the judges to select the standout applicants.
“Global Game Changers is one of the premier events for those visionaries desiring to change the world. I am especially excited to see this year’s award winners who are addressing the UN Global Goals within their submissions. This means we will have more sustainable innovation contributing to a desirable future and keeping us below 1.5 degrees of warming,” said the keynote speaker, Marc Buckley, a renowned advocate of the Global Goals is a member of the Expert Network for the World Economic Forum, and Germany and Austria Country Coordinator for Al Gore’s Climate Reality Project.
Tonight’s game changers can inspire others to work harder for, and help raise awareness of, the UN Global Goals. It will also be an occasion for innovators to forge new partnerships for progress. Join us at Glasgow’s Grand Central Hotel this evening – book your tickets now.
