Is this the biggest climate event on Earth?

Next week’s Climate Week NYC displays all the Big Apple moxy you would expect when describing itself as ‘the biggest climate event on Earth’.

But what matters most is the content and the event is not light on that. One of the highlights of the event is a one being held by ClimateAction Tracker (CAT) on 21 September. With the term net zero cropping in just about every press release promoting government and business commitments, this virtual event asks: what makes a good climate target? And how do countries compare?

“The Climate Action Tracker is an independent scientific analysis that tracks government climate action and measures it against the globally agreed Paris Agreement aim of “holding warming well below 2°C, and pursuing efforts to limit warming to 1.5°C,” the CAT website states.

The webinar next Wednesday is from 9am ET /3pm CEST. Register now.

And check out the full Climate Week NYC programme, which includes in-person and virtual events, running from 19-25 September.
