Some of the best first and last mile transportation innovations are attracting the attention of Ford.
Via Ford X, a division launched this year within its Ford Smart Mobility, LLC arm, it has acquired San Francisco startup Spin, a dockless electric scooter-sharing business that offers alternatives for these parts of the journey.
“We are excited to be accelerating our efforts to provide micro-mobility solutions with the acquisition of Spin, a leading micro-mobility service provider with operations in 13 cities and campuses across the US,” blogged Sunny Madra, Vice President, Ford X.
Ford X is on a mission to ‘build, acquire and pilot new transportation products and services’. The standout projects will “become part of our growing mobility offering”, Sunny said.
