A Japanese startup building a flying car with the support of Toyota has unveiled an early stage prototype at an event in Aichi.
Cartivator says it wants to “create a world where anyone can fly in the sky anytime by 2050” and has ambitions to light the Tokyo Olympic flame in 2020 with it. Members of the media recently attended a test flight demo at an abandoned school in Japan’s Aichi prefecture.
“[The] test flight of full scale prototype was captured, and we could confirm good performance of the repaired propellers which had been previously damaged by small stone chippings,” a Captivator blog states. “Cartivator is developing a redesign of a prototype model which will be released this September.”
