Facebook makes AI move

Facebook has announced the purchase of a startup pioneering artificial intelligence (AI) technologies. The tech giant plans to use the young company’s AI innovations to transform its personal assistant offering.

The majority of the Ozlo team will now apply its knowhow on Facebook’s Messenger platform to help do just that. The California-headquartered company says it works to ‘build a new way for people to connect with each other, gather information and discover service’.

In a statement on the Facebook move, Ozlo said: “By joining a team that shares our values and our vision, we will be able to continue to work on building experiences powered by artificial intelligence and machine learning. There’s a lot more for us to explore ahead and we’re excited to bring our technology to the Messenger community. We’re looking forward to bringing the world more intuitive ways to connect and communicate.”
