Pioneering wave energy company CorPower Ocean was a winner at the prestigious annual European Institute of Innovation and Technology (EIT) awards this week.
The continent’s leading innovators were celebrated at a ceremony in Budapest, with Swedish-based CorPower Ocean picking up the EIT Venture Award for ‘developing the first-of-a-kind full scale Wave Energy Converters (WEC) and electrical collection systems, leading the wave energy converter technology.
CorPower Ocean’s Matthew Dickson said: “EIT InnoEnergy were the ones who first believed in our product and were ready to actually put money into it, thus attracting other investors.”
An international jury selected winners making an impact in the fields of ‘climate, energy, digitisation, food, health, and raw materials’.
