Countdown to Climate Week NYC

Climate Week NYC kicks off in the Big Apple Monday with a packed programme of virtual and hybrid events.

The tagline this year is getting it done, and between 20-26 September the city will shout this message loud and clear to help inspire an acceleration in climate action.

“Climate Week NYC, returns for 2021 with a focus on fulfilling and increasing commitments made by businesses, governments, and organisations,” the event website states. “Hosted annually by international non-profit the Climate Group in conjunction with the United Nations, and in partnership with the COP26 and the City of New York, Climate Week NYC is a global opportunity to come together to accelerate climate action and assess progress ahead of COP26.”

The programme is divided into 10 themes: built environment, energy, industry, food, environmental justice, transport, finance, sustainable living, nature, and policy. Last year there were more than 500 events held virtually from 20+ countries and this year’s online and in-person programme will again attract an international audience.

The majority of events are virtual so everyone can be part of it – find out how to get involved.
