Challenge on to reshape travel sector

(USA)

Finding innovative solutions that can transform and personalise people’s travel experiences is the aim of a new challenge.

The Travel Experience Incubator Challenge is being operated by Marriott International, Accenture Interactive and 1776 – a global startup incubator and network. Selected startups will take part in a three month programme and have the chance to win money and advance their products.

“Whether your work is in revolutionizing price-comparison tools or gamifying food stops, we want to hear from you,” the 1776 website states.

Stephanie Linnartz, Global Chief Commercial Officer, Marriott International, said: “We see The Travel Experience Incubator as a terrific opportunity to fuel promising startups focused on game-changing innovation for the lodging industry. We look forward to collaborating with these independent visionaries to reveal new business opportunities and enhanced guest experiences. Continuously innovating the guest experience from design to technology is a centerpiece of Marriott’s culture and competitive advantage.”

Applications need to be submitted by 7 August – with the incubator itself starting in September.
