Climate Week New York City –
#ClimateWeekNYC – starts today.
Now in its 10th year, the event – which takes place during the UN General Assembly – is organised by The Climate Group in collaboration with the United Nations and the City of New York.
“For 10 years, Climate Week NYC has driven momentum and looked to the future. It is an event that mobilises businesses, states, and regions to deliver the solutions needed to act on climate change and will continue to be a force to drive forward climate action, pulling the world toward a future of clean energy and zero emissions,” said Helen Clarkson, CEO, The Climate Group. “With the backing of hundreds of global multinationals as well as state and regional governments worldwide, Climate Week NYC is not only showcasing what climate leadership can achieve, but also defining what more needs to be done.”
Corporations, including Microsoft, the IKEA Group ,and AB InBev – whose Budweiser brand won the Corporates for Good title at this month’s Global Game Changers event from Innovators Magazine and Newsquest Media, which rewards cross-sector impact towards the UN Global Goals, will talk about their strategies to ‘accelerate climate action’. The Climate Group said in a press release that a big business story is expected tomorrow – we’ll bring you more on that when we get it.
#ClimateWeekNYC for all the latest.
#OnePlanetSummit is also on in New York this week, on 26 September, an event that will strive to develop a ‘One Planet Roadmap for climate action and green finance’.
